In my talk I would like to point out the defining organisational
aspects in the structure of the Debian Project and its activities, explicating the way they shape democracy in its functioning and argue that they can make a valuable lesson for broader social contexts, being an inspiring and thought-provoking model in implementing collaboration and democratic operation on a large scale. I am going to use as study cases the process of the DPL election and other Debian decision making procedures.
