GPLv3 and Debian
Proposal details:
Abstract: | In the next twelve months we are going to see a rather interesting
process take place in the realm of Free Software. One of the most popular FOSS licenses extant will be revised to (an as yet unknown) extent. Many revisions have been rumored to exist, including closing the ASP loophole, making the GPL applicable and relevant in more jurisdictions than just the US, and making the license more compatible with other FOSS licenses. We'll examine the set of changes which will be announced at that time in depth, take a look at some of the comments and rationales about and behind the changes, and then see exactly what those changes mean (or at least, may mean) in the context of the DFSG. |
